Alpvest Institute for FutureTech, previously known as PC Training & Business College, had been homegrown for over 34 years, and the brand had evolved to re-launch itself in the Higher Education space. The Richfield and Alpvest Group had been restructured so that PC’s former CEO, Jay Ramnundlall, through ALPVEST, took control of the TVET Division of Richfield. The new business was re-branded in the name of “PC Training & Business College” and continued under the leadership of Raisha Seupersad.

PC Training & Business College’s latest range of occupational qualifications are aligned with the latest 4iR and Emerging 5iR Technologies, giving learners the knowledge, skills, tools, techniques, and strategies necessary to propel their career prospects and succeed in a digitally disruptive job market. Complementing knowledge acquired with practical skills and workplace experiences gave its learners a head-start in finding careers that kept abreast of the latest trends and technologies.

The job market was becoming increasingly competitive, and employers worldwide were looking for individuals who not only possessed theoretical knowledge but practical workplace skills such as problem-solving, communication, creativity, decision-making, and business computing.

The Quality Council for Trade and Occupations had developed a range of new qualifications that offered opportunities in career pathways in Information Technology, Healthcare, Education, Business, and Entrepreneurship, amongst others. All qualifications were complemented with strong digital transformation content and a curriculum that was enhanced, challenging current approaches to the field of study.

Programs were designed to give new entrants to the job market as well as employed persons and entrepreneurs an opportunity to freshen their business and occupational strategies supported by innovative technologies, thus enhancing the business success career prospects.

AIFT had reignited its passion for flexibility in the context of offering part-time and full-time studies as well as face-to-face, digital (online) learning, or blended learning. This flexibility also allowed employed learners to pursue occupational qualifications in line with their career advancement prospects.
